1975-1979 - Foreign affair (V40-107)
   Bill and Mary Black, not only were the first to circumnavigate in a Valiant, they were also awarded the coveted BLUE WATER CRUISING MEDAL by the Cruising Club of America for that feat.


1976 - Moonshine (V40-122)
   Francis Stokes' boat became the First American Monohull to finish in the OSTAR SINGLE- HANDED TRANS ATLANTIC RACE.

   Everett Smith competed in, and finished the OSTAR SINGLE-HANDED TRANS-ATLANTIC RACE.


1978 - Moonshine (V40-122)
   Francis Stokes and his son won the BERMUDA 1-2 SINGLE-HANDED OVER to Bermuda, DOUBLE HANDED BACK. The record he set on this race held for 10 years and was only broken by a 60' one-off design B.O.C. racer..the record still stands today for a conventional monohull 40' or under, a Valiant 40!
